December 20th: In preparation for winter, the 5000 oysters of the Moriches Bay Project™ oyster farm were relocated to the Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Education Center for monitoring and protecion until the spring. See pictures in Photo Gallery.

December 17th: Business teacher Mrs. Amy Demchak and business club students of the Westhampton Beach High School meet with the Moriches Bay Project™ to partner in sell oyster certificates during the holiday season.

December 7th: Moriches Bay Project™ met with Josh Belury of the Sea Scout Ship 908 Oyster Hatchery, Town Trustees Ed Warner and Bill Pell, and Commercial Bayman Howard Pickerell in North Sea along with volunteers to collect parent oysters for breeding in the Oyster Hatchery. 40 mature shellfish were gathered from local waters to help produce millions of new juveniles.
