March 12th: Conscience Point Shellfish Hatchery Aims to Fix Bays

March 1st: A big day all around for the MBP. (see pics)

A special thanks to the 30+ volunteers (Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, and others) for coming out to the Sea Scout Hatchery Build and Cleanup in North Sea. The Hatchery is now in great condition to start cultivating oysters and clams come late spring.

The new office at Windswept Marina in East Moriches has been fully renovated and will also co-operate as a visitor center. It will be open come this Spring and remain open all Summer so take a look!

Thanks again to Windswept for hosting the MBP at their annual “Cabin Fever” party. The MBP was there to inform guests and members of Windswept of the water quality issue surrounding Moriches Bay. To no surprise, most of the members agree that work needs to be done. The MBP is happy to have made so many friends and supporters!
