by | News

On Friday, October 28th, the Moriches Bay Project, along with Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine, Town of Brookhaven Councilman Dan Panico, Vito Minei and Kim Tetrault of Cornell Cooperative Extension, proudly commemorated the installation of a Floating Upweller System (FLUPSY) at the Windswept Marina in East Moriches.

This FLUPSY is now home to 50,000 young oysters which will grow safely, effectively and quickly.

Our sincerest thanks to Kim and Vito of Cornell Cooperative Extension for their continued help and support on this project and so many others. A tremendous thank you to Supervisor Romaine and Councilman Panico for their support, encouragement and commitment and to Windswept Marina for providing a home for our FLUPSY! Our teamwork will help us go far! Thank you!
